Maybe they just had a bad night.

I'll admit we've had some inconsistent service but we go quite a lot.

Probably the same story as many of these situations. They grew too big and got too corporate. Food and service went to crap.

I love Bistro Italia. I knew Louis & Jon was related.

My only issue with Bistro Italia is the hours. I wish they was open on Sunday & didn’t close during the day.

They did just remodel the inside & it looks excellent

The one on Coursey suffered from very bad management.

Part of it was simply the owner losing interest in the restaurant business.

This was the story I heard as well. Louis (who was 17 when he came to Baton Rouge) probably made his money and simply didn’t have to work anymore.

I waited tables at one in college and I think it was a couple of things.

He was very high on his product and raised prices to a level that ran off a lot of regulars who thought the prices were not justified.

He also tried to become some weird combination of business consultant, life coach, and motivational speaker, I even think he wrote a book (but could be mistaken about that) — he definitely de-emphasized restaurant operations.

His cousin? The guy that ran Johnny D's. Guy should have hired a business manager because his pizza ran circles around DeAngelos. Best pizza I ever had in Baton Rouge.

I remember going there every day , jus tto get their sensation salad, which was the best I have ever eaten. Their broccoli calzone was amazing, too. Their prices went out the roof and the service turned horrible

So did Sr or Jr own the restaurants? I use to see Sr making sales calls in the plants and was told he was the DeAngelo's pizza guy.

That's a situation where you sell it, not let a multi location chain crumble. Must be more to it imo...

Seconded. The food and the ambiance don't match up.

La Contea has been open 5 years. It's good stuff.

Only bad thing about it is that weird commercial they run on TV

Food is good.
