I didn't realize I lived such a sheltered life, not much drama at our small HS. One of the prettiest girls in school, Cheryl, and nicest, was sixteen when she got a 20 Y/O BF. This guy was a natural born hood, greaser hair, worked in a muffler shop, bad skin, smoked, I guess she went for the bad boy type.
So they show up at the prom, the Hood was a little drunk, this was a formal, he was in jeans, not a good look. We had this chemistry teacher, Mr. Kurst, short bald guy, some people thought he was gay, but he was a well-respected. Mr. Kurst decided the hood had to go before he picked a fight. One of my buddies told me what was about to happen, we decided we better go back Kurst up, we liked the guy and didn't want to see him hurt.
Kurst walks up to the table where the Hood and Cheryl are sitting, he tells the guy that he is not appropriately attired, intoxicated and he has to leave. The Hood reaches up and grabs Kurst by the throat and that was it, Kurst dragged the guy outside kicked and yelling and just kicked his arse.
The Hood, lumpy and face swollen, peals out throwing rock all over the other cars. Not 10 minutes later the cops show up, the Hood called the cops on Kurst. Explanations are given, the Hoods story gets nowhere, cops leave.
That was it, that boring tale is the total drama from 4 years of HS. Cheryl went to LSU the next year, never saw her again.

In 10th grad, one of the guys came up behind a girl while outside for lunch and grabbed her baggy pants and pulled them down. Im sure he was just doing it as a joke which was stupid. He was a dumbass anyway but a rich kid
When he pulled them down it pulled her underwear down as well. All the way down to her feet. She struggled for what seemed like a full minute to get the pulled back up while 100 or so people watched her .
Girl ended up with some serious issues from that and that guy was sent to juvie for the rest of high school. His dad tried to buy his way out of it and he was never able to.

I knew a boy whose mother's boyfriend was beating her badly, so he shot and killed the guy. He got off too. Good for him

Two students flooded the high school, starting with the second floor. Then, they went to the first floor and set the Math room blackboard on fire. Will the second part didn't work out too well. Later, our elementary school burned down during the LSU\Kentucky homecoming game. The police thought that one of us did it. It was later found out that a college student arsonist committed the crime. He confessed when he got caught after a setting a series of fires on the LSU campus later that year.

We actually had another interesting thing happen at our school which was not an incident really. The intro scene of the movie The Apostle was filmed right near our high school. We pulled up to school one day and these makeup trailers were placed right in the spots where everyone usually parked. Our high school was used as a staging area for the filming. During that week several of us had lunch with Robert Duvall and Farrah Fawcett, but did not realize just how big of stars they were at the time.

For what it's worth, I spent a grand total of five minutes in the "Senior room," and even that may be a generous estimate. The senior room was a big deal before the idiot torched the high school building. Once they rebuilt and added the common room, the senior room seemed like a glorified closet.
Your recollection of the Headmaster's speech about the Goody's powder is impressive and 100% spot-on. I don't remember who was responsible for the powder or the beer though. As for the wreck, I don't recall it; thus, I'm unable to confirm or deny that happened. I didn't have the money to go eat off campus, so it didn't really affect me much.
To your point, yes, my class was full of idiots. On the plus side, at least you didn't have to spend seven years in class with them. I am sorry we ruined it for those of you who came after us.

The band director, who had a wife and kid got a student pregnant. That girls dad ended up committing suicide over it. Student, who was 17 at the time ends up marrying the band director. Band director went to prison of course. But wait, it gets even better, another high school ends up hiring this a-hole after he gets out of prison. The dumb a-hole gets caught again with another student. You can't make this shite up.

apparently our "incident" was we went to school and didn't have anyone murder anyone, commit suicide in class, bring drugs to school, set the school on fire, have riots, or have teachers fornicating with students or themselves at school or gay hookers at the park.
