My dad has owned nothing but fast cars all my life. Fastest was an '87 Chevy pick-up with a supercharged 504, tubbed out, that I used to drive to school. That thing was a different kind of beast entirely..
Although my favorite is his new(est) ride:
That's over 1000hp at the wheels.

Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo. Did 160+ and smoked many V8 "muscle cars" in street races. It was also an automatic that would catch tire hitting 3rd.

A 1989 Pontiac Bonneville.Got it new.
Damn good motor.Never skipped a beat.
The quickest little vehicle I've had is an S-10,5-Speed,with a 4.3 litre engine(350 short-block).

2010 Challenger SRT8...high flow cats, slp catback, and a diablo handheld tuner...ran a 12.97 in 1000ish DA.
So not very fast
Really want to get my hands on a 2007-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 soon, but can't find any for sale around here.
ETA: I did test drive a 2010 C63 AMG once...wanted it so bad, but the time just wasn't right.

First car was an 04 mustang GT, I got bored of it and traded it and a couple thousand for a 03 WS6 trams am with the LS1 5.7l. Had 4.10 gears, long tune headers, offroad X pipe and a tune. That mother fricker was violent.

Those cars were awesome. In my junior year of high school I had an '82 280ZX Turbo, then my senior year in '84 my dad got me a 300ZX Turbo. He was so pissed when I ran out of gas one day because the car literally TELLS you that your "fuel level is low." To this day he still brings that up.

My first car...1969 Mustang Mach I. H.O. 390, C6, 3.91 9" rear, aluminum intake, Holley carb, headers. As it turns out, a numbers matching FE-block Mustang is a pretty valuable thing these day, just not a very economical ride for a 16 year old making $3.35/hr.

Audi A8L. I get mistaken for that Transporter actor all the time. Quite frustrating.
Back in the day, my '79 RX 7 was a little beast. She'd zip around at 127 mph on the weekends...every weekend.

My 2005 Altima 3.5 SE will actually do 0 - 60 in 6 seconds flat. I know that's no supercar, but pretty impressive for an inexpensive 4-door sedan.

Ok I'll play.
Quickest/baddest arse car:
1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS 350. I owned it for 18 years and spent the last 5 or so modding it.
Stock, it ran low 15's in the 1/4.
Mods:
Goodwrench 350, 4 bolt mains
Edelbrock Performer RPM cylinder heads (2.02/64cc CC)
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake
Holley 600 CFM 4 barrel(custom tuned by yours truly)
Comp Cams Xtreme ENergy XE268
Crane Roller Rockers
MSD Billet Distributor
Fluiddamper harmonic balancer
MSD coil
Hedman Headers, with Hooker MaxFlo and mandrel bent exhaust
Bowtie Overdrives Stage 3 TH200R4 trans
B&M Ratchet Shifter
KYB Gas=adjust shocks
PST swaybars
New OE springs
sub-frame connectors
Moser Axles
12 bolt = 3.31 Posi-trac
There was more, but since selling the car in 2005 I can't remember it all.
Performance:
HP and TQ (estimated from both DesktopDyno and 1/4 times/trap speeds): 400HP, 400-450 lb-ft TQ
Best 1/4 mile: 13.42@104.9 (State Capital Dragway)
Top speed (fast as I was willing to drive it): 138 mph (calculated by tire size, rpm, Trans ratios and rear end ratio) westbound on I-10 between Gonzalez and BR, heading back from NP raceway one night.
The exhaust sound of that car was very sweet. In fact, many times while cruising around BR and stopped at a light in D, brothers would think I had 18's in the trunk. No, I had TQ and HP under the hood and it rumbled like 18's when at idle. And the beauty of the Hooker Maxflos mufflers is that they don't drone, are fairly quiet (except lower freqs) at idle or cruise, but when you push the loud pedal, it sounded like open headers.
One problem driving a car like that around town, is that when you punch it, things start happening really fast; and all of a sudden, traffic that seemed to be safe distance in front of you when you dropped the hammer would be right in your grille quicker than you would like or expect.
Fastest Car:
2011 Infiniti G37 S Sedan 6MT Stock.
1/4 mile (estimated) Mid-high 13's@104ish
Top speed: electronically limited to 155MPH
Haven't pushed it over 120. Too high of a penalty for failure (cops, crashes, death etc) for my now middle aged arse.
It's nearly as quick as the Camaro but much more refined and smooth, so it doesn't seem like it.
the Camaro, being an old car, didn't have much in the way of comfort features or noise insulation. It was brutal acceleration, loud noises, rough ride, and you knew you were in a car that was moving rapidly, not a luxury leather living room with power windows, AC, Nav, and bluetooth.
Different worlds. Both have their pluses and minuses.
