It's slightly more expensive than marble. It's a pretty cool material/surface. There are some YouTube promotional videos on it. Like this one. LINK

We have white granite that I highly recommend for same reasons everyone else is saying. Only con with going white is overseeing certains foods (egg yoke, syrup, anything sticky) when cleaning.
I saw a sign the other day on a phone pole stating - Granite countertops $12.99/sf. Which does not make sense because we paid nearly $75/sf for ours. The $13/sf granite must be really thin and ugly.

ours is similar to Chinese58, less than 2 years old, makes funny noises, and we've had to change out the water filter and a few lights twice already. Honestly, unless it's a TV or maybe phone, you're wise to stay away from any Samsung products.

Non porous and no stains
Totally false. Granite is porous and can stain if you do not seal stone. Lighter colors are generally more porous and prone to staining then darker colors. Sealers have advance chemically that you don't need to do it very often.

No, it's probably legit. Those phone-pole advertisements follow a strict code of conduct.

Most likely 1 cm granite prefabricated from China.

I think we have the same one too. Have had it about 4 years. We change the water filter every 6 months, because we've always done it with our refrigerators. Never have changed a light in it. We like it. I love the flex drawer. Have heard bad things though, so I don't rave about it. But it's been good for us.

Ours will start shaking at random times throughout the day and it's not the icemaker causing it to do so.

You check it for coons?

Butcher block from IKEA. Treat it once or twice a year with the oil that IKEA sells and it is durable and looks great. I don’t cut on it though.

This is 3/4 " material in one or two colors that comes in 25" runs with the edge already polished and it still will not come out to $12.99/sf. If you had a small 30 sf galley kitchen that would be $390.
