Doesn't hurt to knock. I had a neighbor who was dead in his bathtub for a week and a half. It happens.
THIS.
Knock on the door and check on them.
If they answer, just say " I thought you may have
been dead. Christmas was 6 weeks ago and you still
have your Santa outside. Do you need some help
unplugging it"?

Go unplug santa tonight. Check tomorrow to see if plugged back in.
I'm still going with meth lab.

If that's how they responded, I promise you
that Santa would be gone later that night!!

Keep checking in. Keep the updates rolling.
I'm betting it's something very mundane. Probably went out of town and ended up staying out longer than expected. Did you ask the neighbor any information? Like if it was a single guy/woman? Or a family? A loner?

I call total BS.
If he gave a shite he would have given up the address and us south BR'ers would have been all over it.

Probably. I know everyone wants a corpse, if it's not there I'll feel really bad. That doesn't sound right, but you know what I'm saying.
They neighbor said "they." He was not the brightest bulb.

The man replies that he had not noticed the Santa, though it's been standing tall for at least 6 weeks and is at least 6 feet tall itself.
He did it.

I'm not giving out the address. Think about that a second.

This. Now the "neighbor" knows you are onto something.

How did the close neighbor not notice the 6 foot Santa on for 6 weeks??? He may need to be watched closely too. I think I would move off of Wisteria Lane bro.
IDK. He talked he was in high school and a snowboarder. The Santa is on a corner lot. He lives two doors down and the Santa is on opposing corner so he can't see it from his front yard but still you'd have to be totally unaware.
