It's been a long time, but if I remember correctly, it's also important not to agree to take a partial payment with promise of payment of the balance later. You basically give up all your legal rights if you do that. Then, you become a creditor.

Actually there is an update. This morning around 11:30 am I texted him & I told him that that I'm turning this over to the DA's office next week. I said I will give you one final chance to clear things up. The guys tune changed he apologized a million times. He was Making up a bunch of excuses he said he will bring me cash Monday morning at 10am.This guy has ignored my calls for the past 2 weeks & the moment I mention legal action everything changes. So we will see how things go on Monday.

Don't pussy out. If he doesn't show at 10AM you proceed with the DA.
If dealt with this before and for some people getting the law involved is the only way to go.

I had to write a check the other day for the first time in about 10 years. So stupid. I don't even know if i filled it out the right way.

I have a guy who collects bad checks. He is really good at it. I have a retail business and have not had a bad check in the last 9 years that he hasn't collected.

Sorry for the delay. The guy met us this morning 10 am. He apologize a million times blaming it on his job why he hasn't answered our calls for the past 3 weeks. He kept telling me he was in conference calls everyday. (Yeah right) Just like the last update I took the OT's advice and told him I was turning it over to the DA's office on Monday if we didn't get this balance cleared up. From the moment I told he that he has answered every call & text. He was on time this morning with cash & repentive heart lol. I have never had a problem getting paid from a customer til I met this guy.So in the end result as soon as I mentioned legal action the guy turned into a teddy bear & started crying & praising the work we done.Thanks or all the advice from the OT you guys are GODS!!
