What tire and pressure do you run on your road bike?

My bike came with Weinmann DP 18 Alloy wheels with Kenda k152 700x25 tires that max out at 90 psi. I'm thinking of putting some Continental Gaterskins on so that I can get some more pressure in my tires. I mainly ride on almost perfect asphalt. Good idea? Or waste of time?

Gatorskins are great for for preventing punctures, but don't get too concerned with going too much higher with PSI. Unless you are racing a short time trial, the ratio of greater efficiency to quicker wear of the tire shoots up once you cross the 110 PSI threshold. When I used to race, I would train at 100 and boost up to 110-115 on race day.

What do you like about the gran prix's vs the gatorskins? I'm not too worried about flats, but the gatorskins have such great reviews all around I was going to go with them.
eta: I was planning on going with foldable clinchers if that makes a difference.

How much do you weigh? I'm not saying this chart is law, but it gives you a general idea of where you should be.
I have gatorskins on my CX bike. If you are looking for a good all around tire, Conti Grand Prix 4000sII. If you are looking just for puncture protection, get the gatorskins. However with 25mm, there's no need to jack up the pressure. I'd go as low as possible for a comfy ride.
Gatorskins are just a slow tire. Conti GP's are a very good mix of puncture resistance and rolling resistance. Some say minutes on a ~50 mile ride worth of time savings.

I have Gatorskins, and I roll at 110 psi. Never had a problem.

^^this is the correct answer for most tires. I have vredestein clinchers on my time trial bike that are spec'ed to 140psi - I usually do them at around 130 or so

Gatorskins are slow and heavy, yea they last forever but tires are pretty cheap.

I find them much more easy to mount and change tubes. I'd definitely get foldable.
As far as Grand Prix's, they get the best reviews I've seen. Gatorskin is more of a commuter take a beating type of tire. GP's are a good all around tire that people are willing to race on.
To the others running tubulars, do you really find a big difference? I see that on other websites geared toward bike geeks who are worried about the ridiculous small stuff. But to the average cycling enthusiast, are they that much better? And if I was running them in a triathlon, how much of a pain is it to deal with a flat. Can I throw on a spare and not worry about the tire rolling off the rim since I didn't get a professional glue job? I can find race rims much cheaper in tubie rims, but never rode them before.
