Apparently it interfaces with mapping software and virtually hides Pokemon throughout your local area. You have to go chase them down to the actual location on your map and catch them.

I never thought I was a gamer because I only played single player games...in the whole sense (not MMORPG).
But I am a Pokemon Master.
On long treks I used to see if I could name all of the original 151 Pokemon. I never really did all 151, but got in like the 30s.
