So I built this rock climbing setup in my living room and I'm a bit worried about my liability if one of my son's friends hurt themselves.

My idea is that it's obviously dangerous, climb at your own risk. He's got some spastic friends though.

Dude I've supported your stupid iphone cases and ridiculous truck mods. I can't support a rock wall in the fricking living room

In your living room?

Was the kitchen taken? Is that where the MMA room is?

that's more for the basement, but i like it. as long as you didn't drive into studs and supported them with only picture-hanging anchors you should be fine.

You couldn't just put some fricking monkey bars in the backyard?

I'm pretty sure you've opened up yourself to a shitload of liability, especially considering your sons friends will be using it (I'm assuming they're minors)

He's got indoor soccer shoes on.

The holds are setup in a 'hang board' fashion. They don't interfere with each other.

If they get hurt at your house, they could possibly file a claim against your homeowner's insurance. A friend of mine's daughter was horse playing at another friend's house, and she fell off the bed and broke her arm. When their health insurance processed the claim, the first thing they asked was if a claim was filed with the homeowner's policy.

They declined to file a claim with homeowner's, but you know there are people out there that would take full advantage of that situation to try and either get paid twice or get out of paying their deductible or something

Trashy? Rock climbing more dirt-bag than it is trashy.

When grownups feel awkward walking into your house because you've turned it into a jungle gym in an attempt to be the cool dad.

Hope you don't own anything you want to keep and say goodby to your savings.

From an insurance perspective, max out your limits and get an umbrella. This is very stupid to be blunt. Expect a broken wrist and some upset parents.

Take it down.

It's trashy to have anything but pictures, mirrors and paintings hanging on the wall in your living room.
