I was recently given a Weber gas grill. I love Weber, but thing thing needs a little tlc. The bottom is completely rusted/gone and the casters are basically coming off. ETA: everything else is top notch. I’ve cooked many a good steak on this thing at my buddy’s house.

I was thinking about putting it just inside of a wood frame, but willing to explore other options. I didn’t know if I need to get a certain type of wood. Maybe something flame retardant if that even exists.

Flame retardant wood...

Yeah, It’s on the same aisle as dry water and straight Aggie fans.

Put it out on the curb the night before trash pickup, someone will pick it up.

Casters are cheap so if the burners work and you’re a cheap arse like me I’d replace those. How badly is the bottom rusted out? That would depend on if it’s worth the work or not

Burners are great. Bottom 25% is a mess. I don’t think I could screw in a new caster. I was playing with the idea of having a welder I know beef it up with some aluminum.

If it's less than 10 years old call Weber with the serial number. You might get some warranty help there.

Also, I will take this opportunity to say one of my favorite things: Nothing free is ever worth the price

If it's the legs and casters cut that shift off even and build a little table to sit it on.

Casters from Lowe's are cheap. Put them on the bottom
