If the pit is fine and it is the base that is rusted, just build a stand. There are HUNDREDS of plans out there, lots out of wood, that work just fine. I have my Granpa's old weber gas grill, it is from the 80's and still works great, no rust. Before I got his grill I bought a 2013ish vintage Genesis grill. My genesis was damaged 5 years ago during a move, the person who loaded it left the propane tank in it and it bounced around damaging the ring it sits on and took out both doors of the grill. This year I was going to replace it with the new genesis line, but NOPE, I saw the price today and even the Costco one is more than I want to spend. I'll keep cooking on my 80's model and my dented up grill. I might build a stand for Genesis, everything about it is great but the damage to the stand.
