LACC?
I am not racing the LACC series this year. I am focusing on the SERA enduro series. I won the Novice lites championship the first year the LACC series started. My entire family races or has raced at one point. My aunt and uncle and their kids all race the LACC and SERA series.

I would start off by not adopting 3 kids that I can't afford. Your quality of life is about to turn to shite, you don't want to add actually having to work to it. Plus, actually working 70+ hours a week is a lot different than working 70 teacher hours.

dude, we can afford our children. That isnt the problem at all. Mty wife would like to stay home and raise them. I would have to make enough money so that she could quit work.

You don't know too many operators. Those clowns sit in a control room watching Netflix until a gauge says something it shouldn't. If they cant fix the reading with a pipe wrench, they have to call someone else to come do it. Their biggest inconvenience in their 70 hours is running out of shite to watch on Netflix.

You sound like a scorned lover who didn't make the operator cut.

Biggest problem is that Netflix is now blocked on wifi.

I switched from teaching to plant work. It’s been a great change. I work far less than I did while teaching and make more.
Start applying for jobs and interview as much as possible, it’ll hit. You’re college degree will help.

I could never waste my life away in a job like an operator. Teachers catch their share of flak, but at least there are some days where you feel like you accomplished something meaningful.

Goto SELU and get the safety degree. You'll make what you're looking to and it'll be a day job.

I thought about this, but I would have to go to school another three years probably because my degree in social studies education will not have many prerecs for the safety degree.

I know a 28 year old that just got on with Exxon in BR.
"Operator"
GED, and was a fireman for a few years.
No, he has no family connections with Exxon.

I’m a field operator at a small chemical plant.
I applied to places that I heard of through friends, people that I’ve met with, and from what I read on the internet. A lot of it has to do with weeding through plants’ career pages and signing up for job alerts from desirable plants.
To this day I still apply and interview whenever I can to practice and for a chance to make more or for better benefits.
I cannot say if it is worth your wild financially but it was for me.
