The BRHMS class of 2015 has already secured 7.5 million plus in college scholarship funding, and is sending kids to the Ivy League, West Point, The Air Force Academy ,MIT etc. Catholic and Episcopal kids are doing great things too.

So um,... no.

I am genuinely curious why this matters? Arts will not help the kid one iota in preparing for life or for college. I had a choice between Art 2 and accounting as an elective at CHS. I couldn't choose accounting quickly enough. I have no clue why learning to shade is a requirement for graduating from high school. It should just be an extra-curricular activity.

I used to know a valedictorian from BRHMS. Turned out to be the loser by their standards. Never finished college and had other obstacles.
Those people tend to be so damned book smart and lack bigtime in social skills.

St. Michael sounds like it might fit what you are looking for and probably have spots available.

But you have to sign the St. George petition.

The Catholic High asses will be here soon to tell us how great that place is

Going out on a limb here...but there might be a reason we all think it's a great school. It may actually be a great school.

Humor me here...you are originally from Louisiana, went to LSU, then got a job in Texas after college. Lived in Texas for a while, sent your kids to school in Texas, and now Texas is God's country and Louisiana is pond scum.

Am I in the ballpark there?

Public schools? Last or second-to-last behind Mississippi. But there are plenty of good schools if you are willing to pay more than the taxes we are already forced to pay for the shite schools.

ETA: Bama, Nevada and DC give us a run for our money as well.

A few good schools doesn't make the whole state good. As in the OP, BRH is a great school but it's not just available for anyone who wants to go there.

Pond scum?

Far from it, but in general Louisiana schools are below par when compared to the rest of the country. I'd put up my local public school against any public or private school in Louisiana. I was born and raised in La but that doesn't stop be from being objective. Many here cannot fathom the thought of saying anything negative about it. In thier eyes Louisiana/BR/NOLA is the best place to live and no one should ever want to leave.

I may live here, but I'll NEVER be a "Texan".

Well rounded? Ugh. Prob U High. Thats a tough one.

The school board is screwing with BRH and gifted too much now. Can't trust them.

CHS provides a well rounded education for even non-whites. And the kids will feel right at home. They'll have their own table in the lunch room. At least they did 20 years ago. Might even have two tables now.

So I was right

You straight up said "Louisiana schools suck"...seems pretty subjective to me. I left the state too, bud. I can admit the public schools are awful in LA. But there are plenty of great private schools in LA (see most of the responses in this thread).

.

I was trolling but in general like I stated many do suck. Sure there are a few good ones, I'll give you that much.

The girls you were in school with saw you everyday and wanted none of your game. That is one of the many reasons us CHS guys got to rail girls from all the schools.
