You haven't lived until a previously quite proper Irish girl describes something you've made as "a right slap to the gash"
They're all this wierd combination of feminists and brothel queen
They want to be woke, but the behavior is in their blood

The most genuinely nice and wonderful people in my experience have consistently been French and Mexicans.
I guess it’s the language but I’ve always found it weird how most Americans don’t realize that Mexicans are one of the most American-like cultures in the world. They like beer, trucks, cowboy hats, and even football (though maybe not quite as much as futbol
). Always thought it’s stupid the NFL is obsessed with making London football a thing when you have an entire country south of the border who would eat that shite up and expand the brand to the entire Spanish-speaking world.
Mexicans also DGAF about political correctness or being offended.

So much truth in this post. Some people say it in a negative tone but it’s true that “Mexican culture” is very much a “macho culture.” As in “men being real men“ is valued greatly. It shares a lot more with the American South, than most people realize.

Whenever someone says the French are rude I immediately assume they’re the type of person who tries to walk into Galatoire’s in sweat pants

Funny, that’s the exact opposite of my experience.
The Parisians tend to be language snobs, they tend to be a little cold to me but are very warm to my wife who is fluent but there may also be another reason... Once you get out of the big cities the French are very inviting IME. I have been to quite a few countries (over 30) and most are similar in that the hospitality industry has a faux nice attitude, the denizens of the big cities are rather rushed and cold but they are all very friendly outside the large cities. I tend to feel most comfortable with the Dutch, Swiss and Italians, I also get along well with the Finns but while most of them speak English well you can't expect to have much of a conversation with them.

For Louisianians, French, cause that is their ancestry and heritage.

They were nice as can be when I was there. The most rude people I ran into were other Americans and Asians. Most Americans treat other countries like theme parks so it's no wonder those people get treated like garbage.
Respect is a two-way street.

Nice photos, but the French pretty much forgot about any and all sacrifices made by American’s in the past. FWIW, I have spent a ton of time in France over the past two decades. I even have a permanent souvenir from a Muslim in Marseille (16 stitches). In spite of their lack of historical acknowledgement (by-in-large in my experience), I enjoy going there and enjoy people outside of Paris.

You should read about Dean Rusk and the time de Gaulle told Kennedy to remove all American soldiers from France. Rusk asked if that included the buried ones. Embarassed de Gaulle walked out of the room.

Kiwis, Aussies, and Fijians.
European’s anywhere outside of the big cities are cool.
Ditto Hispanics in Central and South America.

If you learn to speak French outside of France, then go to France, you will speak differently and without colloquiums. Theyre all stuck up snobs who will think you’re stupid because of this alone even though they understand you perfectly. French people who have never been anywhere outside of the EU are the worst subgroup of people I’ve ever encountered. I hate them.

The French are sticklers for their etiquette.
You say hello to the shop owner when you enter the store, and you say thank you when you leave. And that’s easy.
But at a party, you don’t just say goodbye to the host, you say goodbye to everyone there, individually.
And when you pass people you know on the street, you’re obliged to stop and have a conversation.
They see us as rude, for me, their customs can be a lot of work.
The French are also trapped in the 19th century and they consider France a great power still. There’s this chauvinism and bravado.
The way we push people around probably annoys them.

I like the countryside, but I’m not a city person.
