Trading/investing in stocks is my passion. 5% is child's play. Of course 1 mil wouldn't be enough with those shitty retiree results.

Correct. $1 million isn't enough to not have to work if you are under 50. It is enough to pay everything off and live a bit easier though. It would take $10 million for me to retire now and never work again unless i really wanted to. With that much no investment is even needed i could draw more now off the principle than i currently make for the rest of my life.

I was laid off 3 times in 8 months. Being young and living it up, that first time hit me like a ton of bricks. After that I saved every penny and learned everything I could about the market. I've been investing/trading for a year and a half now in the roughest market since 08' and I'm up 124%.
