quote:This right here is 100% the correct answer.
A man who raises his children, does his best to take care of his family and is a decent human being.

Stands on his own two feet and supports himself and his family, doesn’t live off the government and is a gentleman to the opposite sex. You don’t have to be a millionaire to be a good man.

One who takes weighty dumps.

Confidence
Ability to remain calm and logical in the face of chaos or adversity
Willingness to do what’s right even when it means sacrifice
Putting aside your personal needs or wants for the betterment of your family
Be someone others look to for strength and leadership
Do what you say you’re going to do. You aren’t a man if you can’t keep your word.
All of these things any man can do. It doesn’t matter how much you bench press, how much money you make, if you drive a F350 or a Civic, or if you work in an office or an oil rig.

I’m surprised this got to 4 pages without someone posting this:
IF
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with wornout tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on”;
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings—nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run—
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
This is my family’s creed. I have an old framed version that was passed down to me from my dad, who got it from his.
I’d say it covers all the bases.

It's easy to grin
When your ship comes in
And you've got the stock market beat.
But the man worthwhile, Is the man who can smile, When his shorts are too tight in the seat.

quote:
What makes a “real” man?
1. Make your own choices.
2. Accept the consequences of your choices.
3. Biologically male.

1. One who explores their own meaning and significance.
2. One who discovers that purpose for existing.
3. One who willingly sacrifices, taking on responsibility to that end.
This would include marrying well, working to raise a family and inspiring them to do the same. A focus on love and charity that comes from a foundation of faith in Christ as the way, the truth, and the life, is a huge plus.

Take a right cross to the face and still chill-ax.

One X and one Y Chromosome.
How you treat someone who can't do a thing for you is everything. This shows true character. Conscience is the ultimate measure of a man.
