In the 80's most reasonable dream cars were Porsche 944 Turbo on the low end and Porsche 928 higher end.

Crockett's Ferraris

How the hell did a cop afford Ferraris anyway? Was it a drug money seizure thing or what?

Exactly, it was a drug seizure. He needed a car that fit his undercover image of being a big player in the drug smuggling game. Also why he had a Scarab cigarette boat. He drove a '59 Chevy Apache for a couple of episodes after his Daytona was blown up and before he got the Testarossa.

Seemed like every kid in the 80’s had the poster on the wall.

The Cannonball Run Movie was probably most people’s earliest exposure to it.

Good Lord. A early body 928 with Crab Claws and a S4 tail. Owner should be SHOT and drug through a red ant pile. By the way the Sixteen Candles car was a N/A 944 not a 951.

I agree though — there is NO substitute

Yes. The difference being the one pictured is a turbo. Same body style though.

Yes. It’s an 1986 most likely but maybe a late late 1985 which there are very few of and were technically still 1986 cars with 1985 interiors. They were oddballs. You can tell by the offset of the wheels and that they are FUCHS Alloys in a deeper dish than came on the N/A 944. Also the Turbo (obvious) badge and under spoiler are giveaways. Later 951’s didn’t come with FUCHs and had similar wheel offsets as 928s and more modern 911s.

*Edit the car in your pic may be the recent 86 car that sold at auction for good money. Like $80K or $90K with low miles. I remember it had the FUCHS Valve Stem Protectors still installed which appear to be on the car you have shown.

The F40

I had a nice little mini-poster of one in my locker in high school...right above my picture of Samantha Fox wearing lingerie with her nipples poking through.
