Definitely pricey. I know it’s made for different colors and looks, but the security lighting setting it provides is top notch. Or just when they’re all set to the same colors as your normal bulbs. However you want to set them up…

My whole house is lit up damn well just at about 60% brightness.

I started with the 100’, but I’m so happy with them, I have to buy two more 25’ strands to go ahead and wrap up the sides of my home that’s not fenced.

Have done a bunch of research and debated this over the years and came to the conclusion that uplights look much better especially with good landscaping. Work in some path lights as well. With that said I think downlights have their place as well. I have downlights in the soffit over my carport, shop door, and a few other places where I physically cant put an uplight.

Yep, the Christmas deal is great, but the security/app features are the selling points.

What does the security app do? And who makes these lights?

It’s not a security app. It’s an app to control how you want to set up the lighting. From each holiday or whatever days you want to change colors. I have mine set up from Christmas to LSU to Astros colors. Actually right now, it’s set up in a Thanksgiving theme. Even with different color lighting they are really bright.

But you can set it up to match whatever color your bulbs are that are already on your home.

Govee LEDs on Amazon. I’ve seen them at Sam’s also

The security of the lights being on, providing visibility to your home.

The app just controls the lights/patterns of the lights themselves.

They are Govee lights, quite a few different variations

I’d probably do a mixture of both if I build another one. Under eave by the house and up lighting on trees and landscaping away from the house.
we have both. It was heck finding matching bulb colors for some reason but after three tries we got it
