Watching football right now and I keep seeing car commercials. I have to say their idea of the average home of a GMC customer is a tad absurd.

So they should advertise what people have, not what they want?

And if you could afford to buy two new cars for Christmas why would you buy a GMC?

They just figure if you spend 70,000 on a goddamn truck you must be wealthy.

Media in general

As a kid and young adults the homes they showed average people living in were laughable. They were mansions compared to the real folks abode.

Another good point. And this commercial isn’t the first one like this I’ve noticed. They show this house that look to cost at least seven figures and out front you see a something like a Buick. And it’s always at Christmas.

Might be more absurd (for sales) then showing them in a trailer park.

The type of people that spend 110k on Christmas presents might live in a house like that. They probably do not drive GMCs though

And how disappointed would his wife be if he came home with a GMC instead of a big arse diamond?

Show the Sierra in its natural habitat parked in the driveway of some shithole in Denham Springs. Could even have an action shot of a 200 pound Lafourche Parish sweathog being forklifted into the passenger seat.

It’ll be a young couple in their late 20’s, the guy will be a marketing intern, the wife will be still be in college or a stay at home mom... and their budget will be something like $600,000. How?

Your point is well taken though. Reminds me of how in movies, there people that are living in NYC but are like part time writer and live in huge apartments, haha.

Like everyone else, I also wonder what the McCalister dad in Home Alone did for a living considering their house and him paying for like 10 people to go to Paris.
