Jack Russell. Deaf since birth but that makes absolutely no difference to this one. Smart as a whip with very acute senses. Sweet as can be until she is not. Afraid of nothing.

Giant Schnauzer. Eli. Kids are grown and gone so he’s the baby of the family.

Rat terrier (maybe mixed some, pound puppy). Best dog ever. Not as wild as a jack Russell, and a little talker and more athletic. He used to bring home an occasional rabbit from the woods, but now is so old he just lays around.

3 here,
10 year old English Springer Spaniel / Lab mix (Springador) sweetest, most food obsessed dog ever.
1 year old Beagle - nut case, but never seen a happier, non-agressive dog.
0.5 year old Cockapoo - basically a stuffed animal.

Mine was around 50 pounds. Came from championship stock from a breeder in Utah. They breed both working and show dogs.
Yes, you need to trim their hind side at least once a month otherwise you get the dingle berries. The only negative thing was the constant shedding. We can at least wear black in our house now.
