Quakers believed sexual pleasure to be a sin against God, but awful or painful sex was considered a sin against the husband (not the wife of course).

My town was therefore named for mediocre coitus, Middlesex.

Doerun. The community was named for a deer run near the original town site.

Marrero LA is named for Louis Marrero, former Parish President and Sheriff of Jefferson, as well as former US Senator of Louisiana.

He also fought on a particularly cancellable side in the Civil War....

Current town: Named after some British Queen

Original hometown: named after the fact that the nearby bay was covered in algae

Ask me what my high school mascot is named for (it's my screen name). I'm very proud of them for not giving in to cancel culture so far.

If you live in Memphis then actually the city in Egypt was allegedly founded by the Pharaoh Menes/Narmer who United Upper and Lower Egypt and they probably called it Inebu-hedj.

Fun fact about Menes/Narmer. Since he was the “father of Egypt” he used to perform a ceremony where he would go down to the Nile at sunrise and ejaculate into the River. Supposedly he died because he was performing the ceremony one day and was attacked and killed either by a Hippo or a Crocodile.

Hometown unincorporated - Limestone obviously named for large amounts of limestone deposits found nearby.

Hometown incorporated - Moundsville named for an Native American mound in the middle of the city.

Those two are probably safe.

Current city is named for George Washington so yeah before I die the leftist loons will probably come for it.

There are 30-50 rivers that form borders. Only 5 states have borders that are not at least partially formed by a river.

Sounds like a fact from a bot on Reddit. Haha
And I happen to be raised in one of those borders.

Isnt it one of the oldest known settlements in the country? Some guy was talking about it on a podcast i was listening to last week. Went there as a kid in school but the thing i remember most is the fire ants.

Bogalusa was founded by Frank and Charles Goodyear who built a sawmill in 1906 on the Bogue Lusa Creek where it flows into the Pearl River.
