My wife is the one who pushes to keep it set so high, which is fine by me.

You get used to it. We use ceiling fans also. It really isn't that bad...even in SC.
I couldn't sleep with it being 78 at night.

nope, I don't notice a difference...if my a-hole is impervious to chafing due to 4 years of military TP and middle east temperatures

NO WAY! Even when I was the same height I am now but only weighed 155 in HS I still couldn't deal with being in a house over like 75. People that keep their houses in the 80s, like my sister, are fricking INSANE!

When nobody is home, 78. When there are people home, 76. My eldest boy tried putting it to 70 ( I blame his school), I had to show him how much electricity costs.

75 when I'm not home, 72 when I get home, 70 when I go to sleep.

Ours is kept at 68 only because the wife says she would "die" if it was any hotter. I would rather keep it around 72, but you know the rules. If the wife is happy, you will be happy.

The reason I fricking hate the invention of digital thermostats... I just cannot fall asleep for some reason knowing that it is set on 69. Drives me crazy, so I set it at 68.
