I had a book a long time ago that had a bunch of drawings of what a YF-22 versus YF-23 dogfight might look like. It was dope as hell. I wish I could find it. But the illustrations were amazing. I forgot where my dad got it from, but he was involved, peripherally, in the defense industry, though he has never clarified his role to me exactly.
For that reason, I've had a weird fascination with the YF-23 because as a kid, I thought it looked cool. I recently was reminded of this because I think there is a YF-23 you can play in one of the latest Ace Combats.
You'll like this article then. Lots of graphics too:
This is what the F-23 would have looked like if it had won the ATF competition
Another What-If? from the same folks:

For me it was whatever aircraft was the closest to our location any time we called in for CAS. I do love them all. But the A-10 is the ultimate eye candy and moral booster while engaging.

F-14 -- Had a sweet F14 shirt as kid. Dad used to take us to the airshows and enamored at first sight.
2nd Favorite. My Uncle flew them in the Marine Corps. Call sign "Ragin Cajun".

Depends.
Just generically the SR-71 because it was a bad arse.
For me? Like when I was in deep doodoo? A-10. The sound of that fricker coming on station was music to my ears.

Wow that is awesome. Thank you so much for the link. I'll show it to my dad too. I bet he knows where that book is.

Absolutely sexy as frick aircraft.
Ever seen Lockheed's proposed interceptor version, the YF-12?

My BIL's call sign was Mad Dog because he's such a nerd. It's often the opposite of their personality or refers to something embarassing.

The F-4 Phantom II in the army camo was always one of my favorites.

My Uncle is the calmest person I've ever met. Still in incredible shape in late 50's. Flies triple 7's for AA internationally. He's not a Cajun at all. He's from Uptown N.O. and went to Tulane.

A true Baw plane. I prefer the smokey version though

The B-36 Peacemaker
Just an awesome bomber that was the next phase from the B-29 to the B-52 for nuclear bomb delivery. It was more maneuverable at its cruising altitude than the fighter it would have faced due to wing loading and air density.
It had 6 prop pusher engines and 4 jet engines on the wingtip to increase speed over the target.
The B-36 made the B-29 look small. I believe it still has the record for the largest bomb load capability for any US aircraft.

B-52 - I grew up in Shreveport/Bossier and loved watching those big magnificent bastards roaring around the flight path.
