Hannibal trying to take Rome from the north with no ability to re-supply and reinforce. Sort of reminds of Napoleon. Did well with fewer troops but gave us the "Pyrrhic victory".

Pyrrhus of Epirus gave us the "Pyrrhic victory"

The ROMAN achievements have not been reached yet, they were the greatest for the longest, hail Rome!

What Roman achievements have not been reached? Aside from longevity, of course. I think Rome was big and awesome but I also think it was overrated. They lost plenty of battles, and their economic and technological progress was stymied by a dependence on slavery. Once Rome reached it's natural borders and had no one in reach to conquer, it lost that stream revenue and it's lack of a developed economy really showed. Frequent inability to peacefully crown a new emperor led to destructive civil wars. They deserve much credit for the invention of concrete, but I'm not sure what else they built that hadn't already been invented, they just did it on a larger scale.

Babylon ... A certain Someone got so pissed at his crew he hired this rival squad to put a hit on them and enslave them. Want to know what was special about them besides their power.

Rome from a cultural view.

Ancient Egypt is the most intriguing though, because I feel like there's more we don't know about them than we do and I think much of what we think of as fact about them might be flawed.

Britain after William the Conqueror did his work in 1066. That part of history has always been my favorite
