Soft Drinks

It's this.

A double decker bacon burger with three donuts at least has fat and protein to offset the sugar. If you put some lettuce and a tomato on it and took a multivitamin, you could eat that for your day's calories and probably do pretty well.

Cokes? Barely any benefit to them. They are loaded with calories from sugar, don't fill you up, and have enough synthetic ingredients to send you to an early grave.

Soda. If the government and the FDA wanted to make a real difference, they would ban sugary drinks. It would save thousands of lives and billions of dollars each year. Ive been addicted to soda my entire life and have to put forth tremendous effort to steer clear of it

Anything that's high in fat and has high glycemic carbs. A donut would be a good example.

Sugary drinks are the worst things that we as a society consume in a daily basis

It's nothing but empty calories

I have people who get in my boat every week that bring 3 or 4 of the 20oz Mt Dews with them. They will drink all 4 in a 8 hour day of fishing. And typically eat crap to go along with it

I have learned that fishermen are the worst "eaters" that live

Just to add about cokes:

A Krispy Kreme glazed donut has 190 calories and 10 grams of sugar. 11 grams of fat and 2 grams of protein.

You'd need to eat four donuts to equal the amount of sugar in one 12 oz coke. And some people down cokes multiple times a day.

Our freight company rep always brings us 6 dozen KK's... I hate him. They're impossible to resist.

I wouldn't classify it as a disease. It's just highly addictive and some people are more susceptible than others. I take full responsibility for my sugar/carb addiction, but it is a nationwide epidemic. Something the FDA definitely needs to consider.
