I left home at 17 with dreams of making it big Rodeoing. Id buy a loaf of bread and a pack of cheap hot dogs. One for lunch and 2 for supper every day with a squirt of mustard for almost 2 months. Would recycle dips of tabacco and every dime I made went to fuel and entry fees. I put every seasoning imaginable in Ramen noodles just to change it up and learned that the cheap .25 crackers at gas stations can satisfy an empty stomach better than you would think.

One summer, fall I was doing a co-op in Paris, TX and living in government assisted apartment. I now make $150K a year and am 39 and single. As sad as it is to say, I was happier, had more friends, and had more going for me then.

Ehh, let's just say it was real low. Like I'd be completely homeless sort of poor if I didn't have family.

I'm about to be pretty cash poor even though I'm going to be making 4x what I was 2 months ago. Got an apartment that was probably $50 over budget in the nicest / most expensive neighborhood in the city.

Now. It's the worst feeling I've ever had. Worst time in my life. I'm miserable most days and if I were to fix that , I wouldn't know where my next meal would come from or where if sleep at night. It's a super long story of dumb decisions and a fear of trying to fix a mistake. There are days I feel like it's killing me and then days I'm scared that it's not. Be thankful for what you got. Be thankful if you have family that you trust and are close to. Life can always be worse. Even for me , o suppose.

Respect

It helps you to appreciate what you do have if you later are tempted by keeping up with the Jones'. Plus, you eventually feel bulletproof getting attacked randomly by knife welding schozos, or psychos running up on you with a branch bigger than Lucille in the dead of night.

The Master Craftsman knows how to carve you into a seemingly bulletproof force to accomplish the dirty work the faint of heart may not have the stomach for. Primal.

I had just got out of the Marine Corps and refused to live under my father's roof again. Too many rules. Had my girlfriend and some money saved... well one ran out and shortly after the other did too. Bitch. Broke my hand defending her honor in a shite bar and lost the job I had lined up.
Anyway I was in at couch to couch till I got a job. My father lived down the road but I couldn't give him a call for the satisfaction. I landed a job and dug out of the hole and acted like nothing happened.
'Cause my old man wouldn't wanted hear it anyway.

And to have enough gas to get around for a few days. This was me in college. It's so nice to have a good job, makes it all worth it somehow.

I was lucky I had parents that cared about me so I've never felt scared of where my next meal is coming from when I was in college. I ate ramen and shite like that on weekends like everybody else. The big treat meal was the buffet at gattis on Sunday for $6. We would watch the early and late NFL games and eat for about 5 hours. Had a blow out on my car and had to sale most of my CDs to buy a used tire and gas to get home for Christmas break.
