Should dress pants fit different than jeans? Should khaki shorts fit looser than pants?

I know all people are built differently but I’ve aleays been curious the ideal way pants/jeans maker intend pants to wear on customers.

FWIW pants/jeans are the only clothing products I have to try on before buying and that I will never order online.

Are you looking for the perfect fit? Or ideal?

Dress pants sit higher than jeans. Jeans and khaki shorts should sit lower on your waist, while dress pants should be closer to your belly button.

Straight. My thighs don’t get along with slim pants

Slim fit...no pleats.
At least touching your shoe when standing. Though, I prefer a bit longer pant than the hipster like.

That’s easy to say if you’re 165 with washboard abs as compared to a guy 6’5” 235-240

-straight/slim
-no pleats
-no ankle roll
-shorter length the better; shouldn’t have excess fabric rolled up around your ankles when standing straight

As long as it features the cock I don’t think you can go wrong.
