If you mean haven't had leaf springs and round headlights, yeah. Trust me when I say a new stock Jeep TJ or JK will embarrass a stock CJ-Whatever your favorite is. Otherwise, pretty damn close to the same old shite.

Serious question: What's the purpose of lifting a truck?
rock climbing...

OK then next question: how does it help with rock climbing?

I have a problem with people who lift their shite and never go off road. I also have a problem with people who lift 2wd trucks. I also have a problem with people who put rims on 4wd trucks.
I had a job that required me to drive in the mud 5 days a week, and my shite wasn't lifted

Undercarriage doesn't get hung up on rocks.
And better approach angles, larger tires envelope larger rocks better, etc
From my experience a Jeep on 33s can handle 90% of the trails. That last 10% requires retarded investment and a I don't give a shite watch this driving style.

raising the chassis and increasing suspension flex, though the rock crawlers running the tougher trails often have fabricated suspension systems, or home-assembled leaf packs to cheaply achieve the goals, making it easier to drive over larger obstacles with less risk of damage to the vehicle
also heard it helps with laying pipe...

I have a 4X4 with a tiny penis. I'm guessing next step is to lift it so that I fit the stereotype.
