Two houses that are in consideration are in HOA suburbs. I think its a $450 annual fee, which seems about right.

I see good and bad stories on here, but I'm not sure if they are the extreme instances.

Thanks

My mom lives in River Ranch and it’s like a $250 fine if your dog poops in someone’s yard and you don’t pick it up. Also has to get approval for any outside renovation or addition.

I have never had an issue with an HOA

In my experience the people that run afoul of the HOA are trash and deserve it.

ie parking boats in street, grass/flower beds look like shite, etc

You won’t have to deal with unsightly properties next to you.

That's what my thinking is, too. The oilfield baws who don't know how to control themselves probably cause all the issues

HOA suburbs are fine. Many people here on the OT are weirdos and have a vendetta against HOA communities for whatever reason.

So you’re gonna get a lot of negative responses here from trashy people who think their freedoms are being infringed upon if they can’t keep a rusted car parked in their yard or can’t gut a deer in their front yard.

I think the intentions are good, but there’s always 2-3 jackasses with no hobbies or life that want to feel in control of other people. It’s human nature.

Do you like securing your property value? If so, you'll like HOAs.

Which is stupid considering people in HOAs contractually agree to abide by the rules. It's not the government enforcing them.

That's pretty standard. The dog shite part I've never heard of but kinda like it. I'm about to bring a horse to a lawn down the street. I've watched their dog shite my lawn more than once. (let the dog do its business of course but clean it up mf'er)
