Was anyone ever arrested in that story of the girl that was burned alive in N Miss? There were several long threads on it but I don't remember if it was ever solved.
Pretty sure I remember they know who did it, couldn't pin that murder on him, but he was caught for killing or robbing someone else

LE has been super tight lipped in regards to the Delphi murders. No way anyone on Redditt knows the COD. Lots of rumors and speculation im sure but not a chance anyone knows actually what happened is posting on redditt.

The fact that the Delphi killer isn’t awaiting trial right now tells me that the guy must have an otherwise squeaky clean record.
Surely, someone has tipped them off to the ID of the killer. They have his height, weight, build, clothing, and a composite sketch of the face. Someone has to know who it is and is willing to tell the police.
DNA would confirm his ID, but how would you compel him to give DNA if he didn’t want to?

That's usually my thought- but they have screenshot texts from a community person that was in the search party that found the bodies.

I've followed this case super close since it happened and this is not the first time I have heard about those texts from a civilian that was in the search party. Unfortunately I don't do reddit. Are they difficult to find over there?

Not only does being tight lipped about that information aid in quickly excluding dead-end confessions from kooks, it also prevents the killer from knowing which pieces of potential evidence he needs to toss before a search warrant can be issued.
I guess there’s no way for the police to enforce a gag order on members of the search party, but people carelessly tossing out this information on the internet are not really helping the investigation.

I agree
I've heard about these texts that were supposedly sent by one of the search party members who found the bodies I've just never put much stock in A) that they actually existed & B) the guy actually saw anything. I mean there's no way anyone could confirm that what he texted is true. With so many limited details released those texts could say anything and there's no one to confirm or deny it. Thats always kind of been why I never went real hard at finding those texts.

I’ve been following the Delphi case for awhile. I have a feeling the investigators know who did it but lack the proof or perhaps the perp has an alibi that someone is helping cover up.

The Orange Socks murders. Barbara Jo Oberholtzer and Annette Kay Schnee. Happened in 1982 near Breckenridge, CO.
Both girls were hitchhiking (separately) and were kidnapped at about the same time. One was found dead wearing this strange orange sock. A while later the other one was found with the other orange sock.
For years, Police believed the husband of Olberholtzer had killed both. He always swore he had nothing to do with it. He claimed he and a buddy were watching TV and drinking beer at the house. Buddy gave an alibi for him but Police didn't buy it.
After their murders, people up in CO stopped hitchhiking. It was a common practice before this case.
Oh shite. While researching this case, I fond the Police made an arrest just two months ago. They caught the guy. Found him through Family DNA. The guy is now 70 and is a local - still lived in the area after all these years.
Her husband was harassed all these years and he didn't do it.

There was a local lady who was murdered back several years ago.
They said she had been murdered and then wrapped in saran wrap and laid out like a trophy.
Happened in a nice neighborhood next to DCH hospitol. She had worked as a librarian at UA. She was a friend of my patents.
Very weird. Never solved and I dont think they ever even had a suspect.

Why does that sound so familiar? I swear I’ve heard a similar case that occurred many years ago, and may also have been in Alabama.
But then again, it may just be the Mandela effect.

The Delhi murders gets me the most. I think that one may eventually be solved via DNA.
Did they collect any DNA? I didn't remember that.
If so, yeah, it'll eventually be solved. All murders where they have DNA will be solved, I'm convinced. Millions more people give up their DNA voluntarily every year and they're just mapping us all.

Jessica Chambers. Just watched a YouTube true crime show about it last week. Think he was convicted of a crime in Louisiana.

I think it was her bf and his buddies but he was found not guilty, I think. Then he was (tragically) killed a while later.

Not local, but the Dyatlov Pass Incident killings. An entire group of experienced hikers/skiers goes out and never comes back. Find the bodies of all but one who left early from being sick. A bunch people died of hypothermia with no shoes on like they were running from something. Some got killed from chests crushed, another one or two had their skulls crushed. Absolute crazy thing is no soft tissue damage to those brutally murdered, some missing eyes, tongue, eyebrows, lips missing. People with chest crushed showed no external damage, but his insides looked like got hit by a car. Traces of radiation were found all over the campsite. Pretty creepy shite right here.
