Cocodrie Lake in Rapides Parish, especially the Bennett's Bay area.

Agree 100%….i was trying to remember what the name of that lake was. Any of the cypress lakes in CenLa, but that is the one I am most familiar with.

Lake Boeuf and I don’t know if any other is close.

I’ve traveled in over 40 countries, and when you get in that swamp, with lily pads big as car tires, you finally get to see what all the fleur de lis fuss is all about and why it’s such a global symbol of the outdoors- water clear as you can imagine but black as night all at the same time- with bass, ducks, and deer all around. And the absolute cleanest smelling air I have ever experienced on earth.

Honestly, I don’t think Lake Boeuf is just the most beautiful place in Louisiana, I think it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Southern California is much more beautiful than Louisiana. And you aren't far from some very nice areas in L.A.

Along I-10 it’s the Atchafalaya Basin. My then gf and I were road tripping back to her home with her friends from Cali and Las Vegas and they were blown away by it taking videos and all. Of course it was bizarre behavior to my gf and I but they had never seen anything like it and thought it was awesome.

Did make me realize we had some natural beauty here that we always take for granted.

My second place in MT is a lot more beautiful than yours, that’s for sure.

The atchafalaya basin is the only right answer. And I’m not talking about the i10 view. You have to go deep in the swamp to enjoy the beauty. Driving through cypress swamps in 5 foot of water is amazing.
