Average is the sum of all the values divided by how many values there are.

Median is the middle value.

Bonus: mode is the value occurring the most.

Median is the middle value of a dataset.

Average is the value that dataset represents when reduced to a representative amount.

An average is simply the sum divided by n. Median is the middle value, or the average of the two middle values in an even sample size. This corrects for outliers.

Median is the middle value in the set.

Average or Mean is the sum of the entire set divided by the number of values in the set.

The median is the middle number in the series. It is the dead center.

Average is when you add them all up and divide by the number of samples. Example: 1 1 1 1 6

The median is 1 and the average is 2.

Bonus bonus - you can have no mode or more than one mode, but you'll always have one median and one mean.
