They actually sell UM Property Damage only. Rarely see it. But if you have an older vehicle that is too expensive to carry collision on, It's a pretty cheap option in case some uninsured idiot hits you and wrecks it.

It depends on what kind of assets you have to protect. You just described pretty good coverage for the average homeowner. If you need more you can look into an umbrella policy on top of that.

I question any licensed insurance agent who ever tells an insured that certain limits are adequate. It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I am not a licensed insurance agent. However, when my father had 5 kids living at home and driving his cars, he had the maximum coverage available as well as an umbrella policy to protect his assets.

Smart man. I did the same since I now own his house.
