Getting a car for a week on a vacation costs an arm and a leg...

Travelocity will give you a composite price list for all rental car companies for the type of car, date and location you will be traveling.

I use National with our corporate account. Any car I want for $35/day.

I'll check other sites for car rentals...Costco always is the cheapest rates for when/where I've needed a rental.

I’m going to the Reno airport to get to Lake Tahoe, how do I do Costco? I don’t feel like that makes sense.

Just figured it out. That’s legit

Where are you staying on lake Tahoe? You don't really need a car... Just take a shuttle from the airport.

Yeah you do. Yeah if you are staying in South Lake Tahoe by Heavenly/Harrahs area you can easily walk to a lot of stuff. But if you want to drive around the lake to explore(which I highly suggest cause it is very scenic)...you need a car.

I usually use Priceline but I joined the rewards members club with the brand I usually use and was able to book directly through their site for $75 less than my original reservation through Priceline was.

Travel board got me on that. If you join, you get to skip the annoying airport rental car line too.

Hotwire and look for the “hot rate” but usually have to pickup/drop off from an airport to get the best deals.

And rental cars are almost as cheap as roundtrip shuttles. Especially with 2 or more people
