They also had to some VERY shady shite to annex the mall since it was not “touching” the city limits in the first place.

And they did all that, but the large anchor stores never joined. They are still in an unincorporated area.

Is the Mall of LA doing well? Aren't malls going the way of the dinosaur? Soon as you build a new one, "they" ruin it eventually.

I don't go to the Mall so I really don't know.

I'd hope they are prosperous, we have too much decay now.

Moving here from Illinois we've seen that move pulled off before....good 'ol Ohare International Airport, clearly in the city limits of Chicago with nothing unusual looking about that map!

That is the big Siegen Marketplace shopping center that requested to be annexed into Baton Rouge per Mayors request after the Mall did. (Sams, Lowes,Walmart, Top Golf etc.)

Part of the initial strategy to annex money makers and sink St. George.

Gravy is seeing all of Whitey’s money now going into North BR drying up.

Why did they leave out little sections on those maps? Looks like they left out any apartment complex. Seems odd.

They left out neighborhoods/areas who didn’t show support/weren’t in favor during the first go-round.

They left out pockets with low support, to make it easier to reach the 25%.

Those pockets can be annexed in later if they want.

Interesting.

Looks like a gerrymandered map at first glance.

The mall of Louisiana is a glorified flea market. Booths on bottom floor with weirdos trying to get you to take samples etc. The non-booth stores are all shoe stores. There are like 25 stores that sell shoes.

The new "mall" is Town Center, Perkins Rowe and the internet.

That's not true at all.

Also, the Mall of LA seems to do really well despite the national trend.

Only it wouldn't be baton rouge.

St George would be the 4th best city in the south in 25 years if it ever happens. There would be sky scrapers taller than anything in nola

Excellent description. I sometimes feel like I'm in Cozumel with all of the "carnival barkers" trying to lure me into their store or to their kiosk to sell me something I don't need and don't want.
