The fact that Louisiana is a shithole and would never choose to live there or raise a family. In Texas, happy to come visit and will be cordial. When they ask when am I moving back, I just shrug my shoulders.

Never going to happen.

my wife doesn't have any idea how much we're worth, not that I try to hide it, she's just not interested in the details

My wife and I still have separate personal bank accounts where our respective direct deposits go. We also have a joint account that we'll throw extra money into for a rainy day here and there. That's the only one we both have access to.

I run all the financials in our household, pay the bills and taxes etc through my account directly. She has no idea how much is in there and has never once asked or tried to know, just like I have never asked or tried to find out her balance.

This was something we decided before marrying, simply because we didn't want each other snooping and judging every little purchase the other made. She works for her money just like I work for mine, she can spend it how she wants.

ETA - I also file our taxes and have since we've been married. Aside from a loose "back of the napkin" quick budget we wrote in pre-marriage counciling at church several years ago, she has absolutely no idea how much money I make per year. She's never asked and never tried to find out.

Is there a man on the planet who wants his family to see his internet search history?

Mine is fairly tame and it's still a massive no way.

Mine is very tame but also I have weird thoughts and ideas the lead me to look shite up that would require explanation without context.

I'd rather not explain why I felt the need to google condom distribution at public high schools in central Illinois for example. Makes perfect sense in the context of whatever discussion I was having, but in a vacuum...

When I read the thread title my first thought was - ‘I could go without speaking with my mother and siblings for the rest of my life and I’d be fine’

But most of the answers are more light hearted than that Plus, I’ve told my husband how I feel and he used not believe me - but I think he’s starting to.

Maybe that other guitar, (oh, this old thing?) or rifle, or pistol, or motorcycle (if it's greasy she's not touching it) gadgets.

I say this with great respect and a certain kind of love, but men are so much more sincere than women, it should be taught in school so our boys can prepare.

I don’t find that at all - I think it depends on the person

I know A LOT of insincere men, some I’m related to - which maybe is one reason I get disgusted with my family so easily.

or you could teach them yourself I have 4 boys (2 girls), they are well prepared for life mostly based on what my husband and I taught them.

That's ridiculous.

Maybe that's all you know in your experience, but disingenuous people are common in both sexes.

Im speaking more on the averages than on the emotional anecdotes. But I'm sure I'm affected by experience.

No part of society disagrees with me.
