re: What is it going to take before people realize Zachary will be the new Baker?

This is bullshite. The major of white people have no problem living around black people as long as the black people are decent, keep their property up and don’t generally act like thugs. It really isn’t about skin color, it’s about behavior. Most decent white folk also do not want to live around white trailer park trash for the same reason. It’s not color, it’s behavior.
My second house I lived next to a black family. He was a supervisor for the cable company and his wife worked at the GM plant. They had a sweet little girl and a boy. Kids were well mannered, he kept his property up, etc. We came to be very close with them and I was very sad when they moved away.
My own brother, who is white, is a complete fricking moron. He married some white trash bitch with two kids from two different baby daddies, and they are animals. He is lazy and doesn’t take care of shite. I pity anyone who had to live next to them. And that’s my own kin.
It’s not about color it’s about behavior but sadly statistically speaking, a larger percentage of the black community have these issues.
I would love to see a turn around in the black community. I would love to see more black men committed to their families and raising their children. I would love to see black women stop the absolutely evil action of aborting their children. A stronger black community would mean less crime, which would mean less municipal money spent on law enforcement. A stronger black community would mean less welfare, which would mean less reason to tax us to death. A stronger black community would lead to more productive work force, which means stronger economy. A stronger black community would mean less dilapidation of neighborhoods and higher property values.
All white conservatives would benefit from a stronger black community and we know this. So you tell me, who is really working to destroy the black community.
I'm a black conservative. That person is gaslighting you. Trust me black people and liberals know black culture is really bad and it's not white people fault. Any sympathy most white people had for the plight of black people ran out when they realized they are the cause for 99% of their own problems and societal problems.
And as a black conservative, I know many black folks like me who think just like you. We not as rare as liberals like to pretend. We just not the loudest in the room, but we take action. Look at all the SU alumni who discouraged their kids from enrolling at their alma mater ... IT'S A LOT ... but people don't talk about it. That's one of the reasons why LSU has gotten so black.
And Louisiana got some of the worst white trash ever. Especially in Livingston. I don't want to be around them either. And since trashy black culture is celebrated in the state, those trashy values are spreading to many Louisiana natives regardless of race which is creating a new set of problems I won't get into. I promise you in 10 years from now Zachary will be complete trash. Just how Baker gradually turned into a POS as it got blacker and more democratic ... same will happen to Zachary. THERE. IS. A. PATTERN. It's not racist to notice the pattern. We need more black conservatives in the black community and honestly we are the fastest growing demographic in the political sphere so just maybe ... just maybe

There’s MANY towns to pick from (in La) worse than Livingston.
Otherwise, well written

Inside the city limits of St Francisville may grow a little but there is limited room and they won’t incorporate anything new because they would have to take in a large Sec 8 area

quote:you are, bro. You assume after 230 years of slavery followed by 100 years of Jim Crow, the Civil Rights Acts just fixed everything? The same people who fought integration are still in charge, or the kids they raised on a diet of hatred are. We’ve had 50 years of white flight, leaving blacks w shitty schools that we bitch about constantly. You think you’re not racist bc you’re ok with the “good ones”?

I'm sure you must be a democrat. And democrat must mean "lack of accountability" in greek.
I'm black, became a conservative in adulthood, my grandparents were dirt poor, I grew up in EBR public schools as a lower middle class student and on welfare.
Today I have two degrees, own my house, own my car, I was honor roll student all through life even though I lacked a comfortable home life and had shitty lazy parents. I didn't even have my own bed, I slept on the floor. We also didn't even have a large enough kitchen table for the whole family, I usually would eat on the sofa. I didn't make excuses, had a pity party, nor lived in the past. I made the most with what I had to get more of what i wanted. It clearly worked out ... I live a much better life now than I did as a kid.
It's people like you who keep the black community back with this fake victimhood mentality, endless excuses, and invisible oppression.

I grew up in Zachary but haven't been through there since probably 2020 until Friday. It's definitely turning into Baker and has been for a long time, but I knew it was bad when I went into the Exxon and saw a shelf of "rap snacks". I actually laughed out loud when I saw that and it's a definitive sign of the demographic in the area. I couldn't get out of there and back to Texas fast enough.

If EBR actually 1) locked up criminals and threw away the key, and 2) banned the building of mass housing developments, it would magically become a much better place to live.

Well that’s what happens when white folks basically stop having kids.
It has more to do with the economic migration/brain drain away from Louisiana and the tendency for people to just keep moving further out. It's why you see huge swaths of Baton Rouge that are completely abandoned.
"Instead of putting money into our own neighborhood, let's just build a new one in that sugarcane field 30 minutes away."- Louisiana people probably

EBR would be better if the demographics shifted in the opposite direction like what's happening in Atlanta. Those two things you mentioned would help but wouldn't help enough. I grew up there ... I watched as the city progressively got worse as the demographics changed. It's a demographic problem. It's not all of them but always them that's the reason for the major decline.
Just look at Belaire, Woodlawn, Broadmoor, Tara, Lee (Liberty) High today versus 25 years ago. Big difference in culture and public safety ... much worse today

Is that you Darrell Glasper? If not, damn, you should get on the black Republican grift! Tons of money in it for you. Nothing they love better than people they shite on singing their tune. You know, like Log Cabin Republicans? Just need a catchy name…maybe Uncle Tom’s Cabin Republicans?
In all seriousness, congrats on rising above your parents. I’m sure it was a hard road. Sadly, no matter how successful you are, whitey will never accept you as an equal. Until we fix that, nothing will change.

Everything good in this country was built on the backs of people! Just kidding they are a disaster and destroy every community they inhabit. Sorry to the good blacks people out there who just want to live good lives but you have to speak out about the rest screwing it up for you!

I know there really is no point in responding to you because you are either saying shite just to get a rise out of folks or you actually believe it, in which case you will never consider any other opinions.
But since we are iced in and I’m bored, what the hell. I’m not racists because I generally don’t give a shite what color a person is. I don’t mind associating with anyone as long as they are decent. I don’t hang around black thugs. I don’t hang around peckerwood white trash. I don’t hang around Mexicans straight out the barrio. I do however have black, white, and mexican coworkers that I like and personal friends that I hang out with personally. Sorry Asians, I don’t work with or know any personally to hang out with.

No reason to stay a victim.
