What is it about the 4Runner that resonates with women buyers?

I rarely see any men driving new 4Runners. How did this vehicle, seemingly without trying, become such a favorite of women buyers?

Because they can take a curb better than any of the other similar SUVs. I’ve lived on Magazine long enough to see hundreds of low profile suv rims scrape curbs. Give the wife a smaller rim and taller sidewall no rim scrapes.
I watched a woman in a panamera turbo take out her right rear. That’s a $2k rim + $850 tire.

It rotates with suburban white women. First it was tan suburbans, then black GMC Yukon. Then white infinites and now silver/ gray 4 runners. They bitch all day everyday about being individuals but in the end they are the biggest sheep group on earth. Hence why Biden got elected.

I the the 4-Runner is a Baton Rouge thing. I can’t tell you the last time I’ve seen someone driving a 4 Runner outside of Louisiana

I'm pretty sure they sell all ~140k of them in LA each year.

I love my 2013 4Runner Limited. I got it lifted and put a brush guard on it too. Now I hit deer and keep on trucking.
I do have several complaints: mice like to chew on it, the passenger door doesn't lock/unlock electronically, and when I bought it used it came with DVD players in the headrests. I do not have children so the DVD players are wasted on me. I also wish I could have glass headlights again (RIP 4Runners 1&2) and I could switch the front end for the later model with Angry Eyes.

Women have been loving 4Runners dating back to the late 90's. I figured with the transition to car based SUV's, women would have left the 4Runner for such vehicles. Maybe they perceive it as a safe SUV and still buy them.

My wife has one. I like the way it looks but I’m not a huge fan of the way it drives.
