What is actually killing people with covid-19?

Ok, it's a virus right? When someone gets the coronavirus, what exactly are patients dying from? Respiratory failure? What happens during this virus to cause death?

I think they suffocate on mucus in their lungs from their immune system fighting the respiratory infection.

People are stupid, just take a shot of vodka every couple of hours. Alcohol kills germs preventing you from ever getting sick

from what I see mostly pneumonia lower lung crud which is hard to hack up mostly the old, fat, diabetic are the most effected which means I may be in trouble but ya can bet ya sweet arse I aint gonna sit and wait for it. I M holing whiskey really is good for it and planning to stop at the Chinese place after church I figure it wont be crowded

I knew an ole gal (as in elderly lady..) that grew up in WV in the 40's. Told me that growing up when anyone in their family began to get sick with a cold, their mother would mix up some brew that included orange juice and kerosene that they would drink before going to bed. Said that without fail they would be better in the morning...

What is actually killing them is another underlying condition that is affecting their immune system and ability to fight disease. Probably have CKD, heart failure, COPD, or some underlying condition that would leave prone to dying from any type of severe infection.
Take care of your body and the coronavirus won’t kill you. Same as the flu (in most instances)
