For pets.

I see people sharing their dogs and trying to get them adopted to a new home. What that crap is a “rehoming fee?” They range from $100-$350. Sounds bogus.

People try to sell their dogs they don’t want anymore? I know this word is overused here but... trashy.

It’s to weed out the trashy shite asses that will abuse the animal.

Is this a real question?

That’s what I gather.
They act like it’s an adoption and then stick a “rehoming fee” to it.

Bish why don’t you just say Dog For Sale?

Yes it’s a real question.
People can’t beat a dog after paying for it?

Pretty sure 99% of pit bulls are paid for.

While true, it at least lowers the chance the dog ends up teriyaki stir fry at happy panda

In Texas they do it because you cant sell a dog without a license in most cities/counties. It's supposed to cover the cost of puppy shots and care up to that point. Deter people from picking up free pups and using them as bait dogs.

pwejr88, why are you taking such an ostentatious, pugilistic tone with LouisianaLady?

Logic* you mean to say ;)

But really.. that’s why.

People willing to pay a rehoming fee are less likely to abuse

The other part of the rationale is to help make sure the person has the financial means to take care of the dog. It is a non-perfect way to make sure it is going to a good home when you don't know the people.
