What is a “rehoming fee?”

People try to sell their dogs they don’t want anymore? I know this word is overused here but... trashy.

It’s to weed out the trashy shite asses that will abuse the animal.

In Texas they do it because you cant sell a dog without a license in most cities/counties. It's supposed to cover the cost of puppy shots and care up to that point. Deter people from picking up free pups and using them as bait dogs.

The other part of the rationale is to help make sure the person has the financial means to take care of the dog. It is a non-perfect way to make sure it is going to a good home when you don't know the people.
