no it wasnt a good job. sure I made decent money but only because I traded time and health for it.

it was shite. Working in the heat all day

and I knew it then, I never had a poverty mindset.

She got the lead in a play for the local theater. Pays well, she even gets to travel with it.

Its a "real granddaughter" not step. Youve never touched a woman, and think the rest of us are in your shitty situation.

You seem very jealous of a 17 year old girl

That's tough. It's hard to keep good salaries a secret now but I don't think enough younger people know how much UPS drivers make.

I’d be disappointed if it didn’t turn into a trade discussion at this point.

Yet for some reason you went every day and performed. It must have been a good job at the time or you wouldnt have persevered.

I’m just happy to see high achieving youth!

Especially from disadvantaged households

Not even close. They do well and can make up to about $200k if they're not traveling but AAs don't make $300k unless they're contract, traveling and working tons of OT

median UPS driver in the US makes 49k or 23/hour as they have some built in OT. Dont let the up to 170k in salary plus benefits fool you

median in LA $38,383

most UPS drivers are not full time. Full time will eventually make average of 49 an hour by 2028 plus the great benefits but they work a hell of a lot more than 40 hours per week.

its a good job for someone with a low IQ, it aint something I would want to do all day if i had other choices...riding in the heat all day lifting heavy shite until 8-9 at night...I mean if you are into trading time and health for money...have at it.

you do wtf you have to do. But i wouldnt call it a good job at all. I dont look down on it and applaud people that work with their hands

my problem is the OT thinking everyone should go in to the trades and that they are so great when its not. the ot, including you, just fricking suck at understanding statistics and median wages.

like the UPS driver comment.

My first real job was in a steel shop. It paid $6/hour to weld and grind, shear and bend sheet metal. Hard, physical work in heat having to wear protective gear.

It was a great job for some people, including myself that summer (unemployment in Bossier was up to 15% at the time) I learned more doing that than I have in most of my administrative career.

Thank god the engineering dept rescued me from the shop, but It was a good job for me at the time when there were few jobs.

Its all relative.

100% and time/experience allow us to look back and see what was or wasnt a good job.

I once worked for PSC when I first moved back to LA and even though I was making 15/hour back then and had unlimited ot....it was a literal shite job.

just because i had to take it because I needed something right then and there doesnt mean it wasnt a dog shite job.

Usually 7-8 years of schooling. I would hope they'd at least make 150-200k.
