What is a good household item to use for quickly poisoning a mouse?

My pest control guy left a sticky trap in my garage and it worked but the mouse is still alive. I feel kind of bad for it and want to put it out of its misery. Any ideas (poison-wise)?

Sticky traps are the worst. Just use a fricking snap trap like a civil human being.

So what are you planning on doing? Taking whatever the OT recommends, pour it in an upside down Pringles lid and say "here you go little mousy aww yous a good boy"

Yeah I never understood sticky traps.. I would either step on it, or take it to the woods and cut it free. Anything less is prolonging its misery. Getting squished instantly might seem cruel to you, but it's better than being poisoned while stuck.

just so you know, a cat and a sticky pad will run you about 200 bucks at the vet.

unless you dont give a shite about the cat. then it costs whatever you pay for the monthly garbage pick up

I Googled and found this:

quote:

Mix 1 cup (128 g) of flour, 1 cup (201 g) of sugar and 1 cup (128 g) of baking soda in a large bowl.

quote:

Wait a day and check the cans.
The bicarbonate of the baking soda reacts with the rat's stomach acids to produce a carbon dioxide gas. Rats are unable to pass gas. The gas will build up in the rat's system and eventually cause internal blockage or rupture.

Now doesn't that sound so humane?

You throw it outside. The mouse's cries will lure a cat. The trap sticks to the cat, then the cat and mouse show begins.
