25 minutes is quite respectable for 3 months in.
My PR is 19:00 this past March (cool morning, course was a little short, probably would have been more like 19:30) but right now in the heat I'm more like 20:30. I've been running for about 5 years now.

Paul Allen what is your best time so far?

A decent 5k time for a beginner is 21 minutes.
If you can run a 21 minute 5K you can probably get top 500 at Crescent City Classic. That's not a beginner's time, asswipe.

Yeah it was about 85 when I ran it this morning. Really wasn't feeling it either. Felt short of breath less than a mile in. I'm pretty sure I can get under 25 minutes my next try.

I did 7 miles this morning starting about 9am. It sucked. Probably about a 7:45 pace.

Any tips to increase endurance other than just keep running?

Sprints
Sprints will help you get to the next level
Start with 1/4 mile then work your way up to 1/2 mile

Yep. Hill/bridge work and interval work along with mileage and you'll get faster for sure.

Try to alter your pace a little. Even mix in straight up 100 yard sprints twice per mile. Usain Bolt it then slow back to pace...

The OT will tell you that anything more than 15:00 flat makes you a fatty and lazy.
dont worry about what other people run. Just worry about improving your times, whatever they may be.

I run with beginners because I try to get more people involved in healthy activities, and 30+ minutes is common for beginners.

I am usually around 17:45, maybe a tick quicker on a really good day.

I tell you it is humbling being a gym rat and having a six pack and all that shite thinking you are in great shape and having chubby women passing you!!

You should try swimming. I've been a good runner my whole life....ran in HS and College, a decent cyclist....raced for several years. There are chubby, old men and women and children that kick my arse in the pool.....and I'm a pretty decent swimmer too. But swimming is more about technique than brute force or lung busting endurance.
For only running for a few months your doing fine. I would caution about trying to go fast every run. Its easy to get injured running. So for every fast run or longer than usual run, take it easy the next run. You don't have to prove your manhood all the time.

I can run 3 miles under 23:00 minutes, and Im exhausting myself quite a bit. I'd say you're a good pace if you're just beginning with 3 miles in about 25 minutes. I try to always keep my 3 mile pace at the slowest 24 min (8 min/mile).

This x 1000
I have a TERRIBLE habit of trying to push myself over and over, but its catching up to me, and Im getting some tight/stiff muscles as a result. Im learning how to pace myself, and also don't neglect training those muscles you utilize during a run by doing leg exercises that dont require cardio, or do core exercises (abs, lower back etc.). You can do those on your off days.

probably early morning in the summer

Just focus on improvement, enjoying it (running with a friend to talk with makes all the difference, and staying on soft surfaces as much as possible. You will continue to improve over time even at your age.
