For a beginner runner? I have only been running for about 3 months running 2-3 times a week 3 mile runs. Never time myself but did today and it was 25:25. This was with me really pushing myself . I'm only 5'8" if that matters. Don't see how you guys do it in under minutes. Much respect.

They usually start in the morning around 8:00 or 9:00 am.

That's not bad at all. You are on your way to having a 26.2 decal on your vehicle.

that's a pretty decent time and baseline to work off of if you want to improve.

my best 3 mile was when I was 18 new in the military and it was 18:05

How old are you?

That is not a bad time for a beginning runner.

Also, beware of incoming assholes.

Just doing it is great. Under 27 minutes is respectable. Ive done races everywhere and Louisiana races have by far the best after parties

Of course the average OTer runs a sub 20 and if didn't had the problem of juggling supermodel gfs in college, Cross Country would have been one of the many sports they would have letter in at LSU

That hurts to think about. My best ever 3 mile was 21:49, and I'm fine with that. I run for 30 minutes 3 to 5 days a week. I like to get at least 3.7 miles over a 30 minute span.

Hell that was 9 years ago and before 4 ankle surgeries. My last time was a 25.02 (non old man Pft)

Any average man should be sub 21:00 imo.

Anything in excess of a sub 4 minute mile is not up to OT standards.

A decent 5k time for a beginner is 21 minutes. 25 means you are very out of shape.

Trying way to hard.

What beginner is able to hold a sub seven minute pace for over three miles?
