What if you just decide to be a man of leisure?

I was called this the other day. No kids, no wife. Do whatever I want. Does Society have the inclination to hammer a man who isn't tied down?

"Confirmed bachelor" is the term I've often heard bandied about.

Marriage is an important part of getting ahead. It lets people know you’re not a homo. A married guy seems more stable. People see the ring, they think ‘at least somebody can stand the son of a bitch.’ Ladies see the ring, they know immediately that you must have some cash, and your cock must work.

Work prevents me from being a man of leisure.

If you have a job, bills and can't just quit your job, this isn't the case.

Nobody but me is dependent on me showing up for work, and my salary allows me to persue my relatively expensive hobbies.

Are you thin and neat too?

Not that there is anything wrong with that

I mean you get to a point with chicks where it's like 'If you aren't down with what I am doing, so what? There will be another one of you along eventually.'

It's awesome, glorious. Never married and all my dumb-arse high school buddies are on their 3rd marriage and still miserable.

Knew a guy like that from my hometown who died recently. He was an older gentleman with a glass eye. Wore sport coats and turtlenecks together. He could often be seen on any given night at the Cracker Barrel having dinner with the newest widow in town. He stayed on the prowl until one day he up and just keeled over. We all admired him, and nicknamed him "Bird Dog".

There's more to life than just being happy. Now get a family and be miserable like a fricking grownup.

Hopefully the hobbies include two chicks at the same time.
