If the I-10 bridge was four lanes wide, and didn’t drop down to one lane at the base, would Port Allen be an affluent suburb of Baton Rouge?

I still wouldn't want to live and work on opposite sides of the river. One accident and you're screwed

FIFY. If I lived in WBR or Pointe Coupee I would never want it to be easier to get from one side of the river to the other.

If you ever live on this side you won't ever want to go into that shite hole that is Baton Rouge.

A northern and southern bypass would alleviate the need but I don't see that happening either. We just keep widening existing roads with minimal benefit

WBRP is a shithole. I can't think of single redeeming quality of that area

FACT: Every organism has to have a shithole.

If Greater BR were an organism, Port Allen would be the anus.

Even if the I-10 bridge had eleventy lanes each way.

Was thinking about other middle class cities separated from the “main city” by a river. Bossier City, West Monroe, even Pineville and Sulphur are separated by a river, but are much better than Port Allen.
