Less subtle that you drive a vehicle so fancy it requires premium gas.
So what happens if you put regular gas in a Huracan thats naturally aspirated?
How something turbocharged like a McLaren or Ferrari 488?
Obviously theres no reason to do that but I'm curious.

I happened to see it was $1.20 difference at a station I was at this morning.
I wonder if what you saw was actually a price difference between ethanol vs non-ethanol gas.

Premium here. Only the best for my car.

These days, likely nothing because the ECU will detect any knock and detune the engine in various ways to eliminate the knock at a hit in performance, fuel economy, etc., It'll do everything it can to protect the engine, but if you're a big dummy and put 87 octane in your Hurrican and then start making hard passes down the dragstrip, well, your results may vary.
In older cars without ECUs that can detect knock and detune the engine, you run the risk of engine damage, though that usually takes using subpar octane for a pretty long time. However, in some extreme performance engines or under heavy driving conditions, engine damage can happen very quickly once the onset of knock occurs.

Yeah, if you want your knock sensor to go apeshit

Was just talking about this yesterday when noticed my Costco was $.50 cent gap

Meh. Ive had three seven series. Knocking was never an issue. Overcomplicated cooling systems were.

This was a Uptown place I usually avoid as I am a Costco regular. The place is usually about .40 a gallon or more higher than Costco on regular.
You'll find that with a lot of big name stations like Shell, Texaco, Chevron, Mobil, etc.
And more so in neighborhoods where people are perceived to have more money.

Tchoup stop?
My wife filled up there once because it is close to our house, and I was furious. The most expensive place for gas in the city

Not $0.10, but rather 10% is historically close.

You’re older than I am.
When I pumped gas at the Texaco it was $0.36 for Fire Chief (regular) and $0.39 for Sky Chief (ethyl). I think diesel was $0.19, but we didn’t sell much of that.
...and that was full service-wash the windshield, check the oil, fill the battery with water, check the tire pressure, and whisk broom the floor if you got out.
