With extended mag you can carry 17 rounds.
Came with 2 17 round mags. Probably get a couple more for the range so I don't have to reload as much. Put a few hundred rounds through this weekend.

Are there any other baws who go to SHOT? Range Day (aka heaven for gun lovers, aka the safest place on earth during the year)???

Nothing like shooting one of these...
FFWD to 3:44
They had a pile of shells 4' high before they had even opened the range to the dealers.

It's too bad the ATF ruled the semi AA12 illegal last summer, the fully auto was by far the most fun to shoot. Their 9mm full auto was pretty sweet as well! It sucked when Sol Invictus didn't even bother with Range Day this year. It still amazes me at how global SHOT is for all sides from manufacturers to media to dealers. (Israeli companies have some awesome things headed to market soon.)

What's the difference between the 500 and the 590?

The 590 is mil-spec. Heavy barrel, metal trigger guard, metal safety. And mine came with ghost ring sights, rail on top, and tactical foregrip. I'll post a pic in the morning.

I bought a Kimber Micro 9 3 weeks ago but it was regular priced. I got a great deal on a sub compact .40 cal M&P last week.

Next gun is going to be a Benelli M4.

I swore by it for years and two weeks ago I brought it along to frick around for fun in sporting clays and it would not release almost every time after a pump and had to finger the release under the trigger to get it to move 10 times in a row which is insane.

It was cleaned as basically new

I dont know if I can trust pumps anymore

You need to have weapons to protect yourself from the government.
Not the current government but the future.

I've noticed for some of the guns I track on gunbroker.com, compared the the "ended" sales, that the cost is going up quite a bit more now.

Nice!

I use an old Remington 1100 for HD. I may need to look into upgrading

Remington 1100 is a great gun. I just prefer a pump gun for HD. Can't go wrong with a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870. I'm partial to the Mossberg because of the ambidextrous safety on the tang, which allows you to easily work the safety without adjusting your firing hand position.

People always say this but at the same time praise semiauto pistols for defense. Why dont we trust semiauto shotguns?

I'm on the waitlist for an 870 Marine magnum. Been wanting one my whole life. I'd have no problem using a semiauto though, buckshot is going to cycle a good semiauto as reliably as a good handgun

Eta: I've hunted everything my whole life with an 870 so using one is 100% instinctive. I wouldnt recommend a pump for someone who hasnt spent tons of time behind one though. You're more likely to short-shuck than the semi is to jam
