Nothing goes on but fishing, fighting and f$cking.
Rumors are that they used to fly drugs into the small landing strip at port eads at the mouth of south pass as well as bring large shipments in on long line tuna boats that would fish off the coast of Mexico.
There is a cannon filled with gold coins buried by fort st Phillip that was left by Jean laffite. My pawpaws buddy caught it in his shrimp net but couldn’t retrieve it. I’m waiting for the price of gold to increase before I go look for it.

Yeah they have about 50 different names depending on where you are on the Gulf Coast or Atlantic

Cobia, ling, lemon fish, brownies, crab crunchers, etc….

It's a fascinating place, both geographically and culturally. I don't remember what it was like pre-Katrina, but I've been told that there used to be a decent sized population who lived in houses (as opposed to the large number of mobile homes that exist there now).

Ah, I always heard lemonfish on the MSGC, but his mention of ling triggered a memory of my uncle calling it that. Wanted to make sure I wasn't misremembering the association.

Dang fine eating no matter what you call it. Thanks!

Used to do that in Big Lake south of Lake Chuck.
