You seriously think someone carrying a weapon that is concealed (hidden from view) is doing so to maintain an image?

Indeed. Which I why I said "most people" or "if you work in an office..."

Yes, it makes a lot of sense for some people to keep a knife on them every day, for whatever reason. But it also makes a lot of sense that some people don't carry a knife on them every day. I don't carry a knife on me every day. Why the hell should I? My daily experience tells me that it's not necessary. I keep my wallet, phone, and keys in my pockets...all things that I use every day and need every day.

I keep a leatherman in my car, and I've literally only needed to go get it once in the ten years that I've been working in an office. Keeping it with me at all times would be just as pointless as keeping a ruler with me at all times. Very rarely do I need one on a daily basis.

Don't be so insecure all the time, baw. If you want to carry around a knife all day that you don't use, do it proudly.

I stopped after 9/11 when I had to go through metal detectors and shite. Too much of a hassle to deal with at that point. Still keep one in my book bag, though, usually.

A lot of IT neckbeards seem to carry a pocketknife around. I don't mean computer programmers, I mean that shiftless 350lb guy who sits in the server room and vapes all day.

I always have at least one pocketknife at all times.

I think less of southern men who don’t carry a knife. But I’m a bawette from LP.

So why pass judgement as if your needs are the same as everyone else’s?

If he's the opposite, why are you crying like a bitch about what I said?

Were gentleman really carrying pocket knives around historically? Like was JFK or Winston Churchill or Joe Dimaggio or Gene Hackman walking around with a pocket knife?

When did I? I was responding to the judgement being passed that, unless you carry a pocketknife, you're not a "real man."

could probably count on one hand the number of times in my life that I've said "man, I really wish I had a pocket knife on me."

Me too. That’s because I always have one in my pocket. So that number is really zero.
